For my graduation in June 2018, I was on the lookout for a luxury lipstick. After all the hard work, I felt I deserve a little treat. I wanted something that I would make great use of. And if I had to choose one beauty product that I would never leave behind, that, of course, would be a lipstick, especially a bold shade. Everything about your look is very boring but as soon you add a pop of colour on to your lip, your fashion sense instantly uplift.
Burberry Lip Velvet Lipstick Review
After spending many hours browsing through websites that carry high-end makeup, I finally decided to get the C$39 lipstick from Burberry. I bought the Burberry Lip Velvet Lipstick. I didn’t want a pure matte lipstick or one that is too glossy. Hence, the classy Burberry Lip Velvet falls just in between. It’s a very buttery lipstick that applies like a dream. I got the prettiest shade – Damson (425); not a bright red but rather a berry colour with a hint of red. It is such a versatile shade; in my opinion, is the perfect colour that will work well with all skin tones. Moreover, because the shade is not one of those statement reds, Damson is suitable to be worn for all events and seasons. This will be a staple one in my vanity for many years.
The highlight about this lipstick though is the comforts I received because of its soft and smooth texture. It doesn’t spawn a drying or bleeding lip. Plus because of its formula, it won’t wear off that easily. You have to realise though this isn’t one of the 24 hours lipsticks. But the need for retouching is very low. But if there is a need to, the maintenance process isn’t altered by cracked lips. Usually, a completely matte lipstick can be drying. As such, there is a need to apply a chapstick on top of a patchy lipstick before going in with the lipstick again in order to refresh the look. Did I mention that the minimalistic aesthetic package is the most luxurious thing ever?
