In early August, I had decided that it’s time for a daytime facial oil upgrade. I wanted something hydrating, moisturizing and nurturing. I figured this will be an investment, so I went to my favourite beauty site; Sephora!!! As I was browsing through the different oils, the ‘Omega’ in Lancer Omega hydrating oil caught my eyes. The notable ingredients, striking ratings and promising reviews gave this a click to my cart.
My sister was also excited to experiment. She has a fancy for moisturizers and oils that nourish the skin. So let me first tell you about both of our skin types. I have combination facial skin and I get acne around my chins and blackheads on my cheeks and chin when my period is approaching or when I eat ‘unhealthy’. My sister has very sensitive skin and somewhat dehydrated skin. She tries to use products that are gentle because her skin doesn’t hesitate to show its reaction to anything that’s too strong. She also has acne prone skin and the pores around her cheeks and chins are easily clogged. Her diet affects the texture of her skin.
Lancer Omega Hydrating oil Review
This consistency of this oil is more on the thicker side but it is not tacky. When applying, just have to use a little. It applies smoothly and absorbs quickly into the skin. It gives a nice, light glow and makes your face feels moisturized. Added to this, it creates a smooth canvas for seamless foundation application.
However, within a few days, we noticed deep, painful bumps around the jawline. These pimples are similar to the ones that occur when my period is nearing. My sister also noticed similar minor breakouts around her jawline. She doesn’t use make-up. So we both decided that maybe the oil is too heavy for the summer. So we decided to give this pricey product another try in the dry winter season.
Winter is here; we tried again and the result remains the same! We are not sure why this happens. It could also be possible that it was trying to detox our skin and that’s the reason for the acne. It could also be possible that even though it did not make our skin feel greasy maybe our skin did not need that level of oiliness and hence the acne. These are just assumptions. I am not sure why it didn’t work for us and maybe it might not work for some but maybe it might work for some.
Was the CAN $95 worth it? Unfortunately, it just didn’t work for us. Thank you for reading ๐ ๐ Hope you find this review helpful.
